Newly discovered plant fossils from the Lower Cretaceous Kowashimizu Formation of the Tetori Group in the Miyama area, Fukui City, Fukui Prefecture, central Japan.
This study reports newly discovered plant fossils from the Lower Cretaceous Kowashimizu Formation of the Tetori Group in the Miyama area, Fukui City, Fukui Prefecture, central Japan. This is the first record of Otozamites sp. and Phoenicopsis sp. from the Kowashimizu Formation. On the basis of these plant fossils, the plant assemblage of the Kowashimizu Formation is correlatable with that of the Kuwajima Formation in Ishikawa Prefecture.
