On August 8, 2018, I jointly received the 12th Award for Distinguished Contributions from the Society for Discrete Variational X alpha during the 31st DV-Xα Annual Meeting held at City Hall Ao-re Nagaoka in Niigata, Japan. The award was co-received with Hirohiko Adachi (Kyoto University), Kazuyoshi Ogasawara (Kwansei Gakuin University), Yoshiyuki Kowada (Hyogo University of Teacher Education), and Masataka Mizuno (Osaka University), with Genta Sakane serving as the representative. We were honored for our award-winning project: "Publication of "Shinban Hajimete No Denshi-Jyoutai Keisan" and Activities to Disseminate the DV-X alpha Method by Molecular Orbital Calculation Workshops". The Society presented us with a certificate of merit and a plaque in recognition of our substantial contributions to promoting research activities using the DV-X alpha method and expanding its widespread adoption.
