In August 2020, Genta Sakane (Okayama University of Science) was honored with the Chemical Communication Award 2019 for his outstanding project, "Educational Initiatives on Elements, Atoms, and Electrons for Children and Students". This award is presented by the Japan Union of Chemical Science and Technology (JUCST)—a major umbrella institution consisting of 14 leading chemical academic societies in Japan—and is co-organized and supported by key institutions including the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST). It highly recognizes individuals and organizations that have significantly contributed to deepening public understanding of chemistry and chemical technology. At the online award ceremony, he was presented with an official certificate, a testimonial plaque, and a monetary prize by the President of JUCST.
