Novel photochromic and nonphotochromic ethylene-1,2-dithiolato dinuclear W complexes, [W2(μ-S2)(μ-S2C2Ph2)2(S2C2Ph2)2] (2a) and [W2(μ-S2)2(μ-S4)(S2C2Ph2)2] (2b), resp., were synthesized and characterized.  Crystal structures are reported for both products.
