The automatic reconstruction of a 3D object from a sketch drawn as a line drawing
has been very crucial research area since decades, especially in Computer-Aided
Design and Computer Vision. Conventionally most of proposed methods have applied
the technique of line labelling. However, generally this technique could be difficult for
the reconstruction when the sketch includes many curves. In this paper, a method of
reconstructing a 3D object as a solid model from a sketch by extracting features
repeatedly is proposed. In the method, the sketches of cuboids, cylinders, holes and
fillets are applied as features. In this paper, the algorithm of the method is explained
in detail, and the effectiveness of the algorithm is explained by six examples that are
difficult for conventional methods.
