Summary

Results showed that the hardness of the starting specimen of the ultrafine Al-0.5%Si-0.5%Ge alloy was about 2.3 times higher than that of the coarse-grained specimen. The hardness of ultrafine Al-0.5%Si-0.5%Ge alloy aged at 473K decreased monotonously with increasing aging time. On the other hand, ultrafine Al-0.5%Si-0.5%Ge alloy aged at 373K showed increase in hardness.
