イヌの栄養状態評価にはBody Condition Score (BCS) が一般的に用いられている。このBCSによる評価は主観的手法であるため、客観性を担保したものであるかを検証した。訓練を受けたスタッフによるBCS評価（9段階）はCT撮影により得られた体脂肪評価との相関を示していた。BCSによる評価は比較的客観的であり、かつ適切であることが示唆された。
