The carcass of an adult male raccoon Procyon lotor was found in a roadside thicket on a
hillock in Imabari-shi, Ehime Prefecture, Shikoku district, Japan, on November 30, 2024. This is the
fourth record of collection of raccoons in Ehime Prefecture. Although the cause of death remains
unknown, three parasite species were detected: Thelazia callipaeda, Haemaphysalis flava, and
Trichodectes sp.
