Web Teaching Materials of Geoscience Using 360° Images and 3D Models: A Virtual Field Guide of Outcrops in Okayama, Japan
Sato, T., Aoki., K., Yamaguchi K.
We developed web teaching materials for students in Geoscience by using 360° images and 3D scanned models of several outcrops in Okayama, Japan. The outcrop data have been uploaded to web browsing platforms and organized as a virtual field guide, supposing the use in BYOD (bring your own device)-style. We introduced a way for anyone to easily create such web teaching materials and discussed what we noticed about the effectiveness of observation using 360° images and 3D models depending on the characteristics of the outcrops.
