Chemistry laboratory manuals from ten universities including “Safety experiment manual of Okayama University of Science” were analyzed by similarity calculation calculations and clustering techniques. The results obtained from both hierarchical and non non- hierarchical clustering methods suggest two distinct clusters. One of these clusters is the group including explanation of ‘chemical materials ’, while the other group focuses on providing alert to students during ‘conducting experiments’ This result was achieved by analyzing frequent frequently occurring words and co co-occurrence network. Through text analytics, the texts between these manuals can be efficiently classified . Consequently, I found the contents should be included into preparing new manuals. To prepare the chemistry laboratory manuals in new class “Medical Biology Experiments” starting from fiscal year 2024, I propose the main contents of the two cluster s “safety handling of chemical materials” and “ guidelines for students during chemical experiments ” should be included by the findings of this study. |
