A nanocluster composed by fewer metal atoms and stably presents and having the chemical properties like an atom is called a superatom. The superatom structured to an appropriate size and synthesized to mimic the atomic chemistry can be considered an "artificial element". In this study, we will unravel the electronic states of Be@Al12 (D3d) and (Be@Al12)2- (Ih) mimicking chalcogen atomic properties using molecular orbital calculation. As a result, we can confirm Jahn-Teller Effect in superatom.
