Crystal Structure and Electrinuc Structure of Rare Sugar Superlattice

Rare sugar is one of the most interesting topics in the field of the organic chemistry. We investigated the crystallization of the novel superlattice compound ahich includes the rare sugar and natural sugar. In order to confirm the structure of the superlattice we have observed the powder pattern X-ray crystal diffraction data of not only the rare and natural sugar, but also the new superlattice compound. In order to compare the electronic structure and the 3D electron density, we have calculated the electronic structure of these rare sugars by means of DV-Xα molecular orbital calculation. The purpose of our study is to reveal the crystal structure of the novel superlattice compound by a Rietveld refinement of the powder pattern X-ray diffraction data.
