Image Acquisition of Power Line Transmission Towers Using UAV and Deep Learning Technique for Insulators Localization and Recognition

This paper presents research results about an autonomous inspection of power transmission towers and insulators. Image acquisition is performed during an autonomous flight of a quadrotor helicopter. The recognition of the transmission towers and insulators is based on the YOLO system. Several experimental examples presented here prove the capabilities and usability of the proposed system.
