We are considering to use ice containing ozone to disinfect food to preserve it for a long time. However, there is no method available to measure the ozone concentration in ice. Therefore, in this study, we developed a method to estimate the ozone concentration in ozone ice from the concentration of ozone in the dissolved water melting from the ozone ice. It was found that the ozone concentration in ice can be estimated almost exactly by correcting the ozone concentration with the ozone decomposition rate in water. Then, a formula was derived to calculate the ozone concentration in ice by multiplying the dissolved ozone concentration when all the ice had melted by a correction factor determined by the time it took for all the ice to melt. |
