The project was started in 2019 by Architectural Hall Co., Ltd., which was established in 1961 with the investment of approximately 180 architects led by architect Kunio Maekawa, with the aim of constructing a hall as a base of activity for architects in Japan. In a series with the theme of "Regional Architects and Architecture," I participated as a co-editor of the third book on the Okayama/Hiroshima area, following the Nagoya and Kanazawa areas. This series targets Japan's major metropolitan areas and records the history of the activities of architects who were based in the area and left their mark on the development of local architectural culture. This exhibition focuses on architectural works, towns, and landscapes that have contributed to the formation of culture from the perspective of local architects, and aims to widely convey the social role played by architects and the thoughts of architects embedded in their works. be. It was intended to be a book that would contribute to architecture and local culture, allowing not only specialists but also a wide range of people to understand regional architecture.
