The book named "Architects and Architecture in the Okayama and Hiroshima Area" is a historical record of the activities of architects who have been active in the Okayama and Setouchi regions and have left their mark on the development of the region's architectural culture. It also examines architectural works, townscapes, and landscapes that have contributed to the formation of the region's history and culture, from the perspective of local architects, broadly conveying the social role played by architects and the thoughts they put into their works.
Coordinated by Akihiko Omori, President and CEO of Kenchiku Media Research Institute Co., Ltd., who was involved in the editing and production of this series, I participated as one of the authors of each article in a forum on the theme of "Regional Characteristics of Architects and Architecture in the Okayama Area," discussing the activities of modern and contemporary architects and architecture in the Okayama area from the perspective of "regionality."
